i spend my life under water
trying to replicate
and imitate the fluid
way you moved towards me
like liquid
couldn’t grasp your beauty
or touch your grace
i spend my nights remembering
your steps towards the shore
that never ended
outside our bedroom window
just dissolving into space
one with the current
under waves that lapped
at your fingers
with the same touch
the same flow of your hand on my cheek
i spend my days next to the water
drowning in the overflow
of what you couldn’t say
of what you became
of what swallowed you
the constant motion
and movement
that makes me want to follow too
