frequent withholding
sighed into the mattress
the telephone mumbled something
please. hands. open the mouth.
ideas about biting
having an unpredictable emotional state if you love
grip the couch cushions
circling fingers
deeply in love
hot, not warm,
and not wearing any makeup,
but she wanted to find out
walked into land
filling the air hard
happy about the look
got good long moments
felt different this time
now close the senses
snacking on darkness raw not cooked
quivering pile of exhaustion
can’t wait for that. dressed to impress
just deep
pinning open swatches of light to the wall
felt myself change which way not sure
under the lights you could see her flesh
giving out stuff like this. just a taste
dressed a little
some more meat
slender with a nice head of hair,
a breath
closing off one avenue
fingers dragged deep inside lightly scraping
purring in separated rooms
cooing through adjoining walls
crime scene evidence
the joy of painting
climaxing in happy little trees
grab. buy. switchblade serenades.
dirty lenses shielded her lust
while she approached the martyrs of the balcony
swan song
people sometimes say those things
enter the kitchen
a hub of family life
table set neatly
2 knives each setting
a half-glass of blood waiting for a taste at each spot
diners of removable lust stare at each other before biting
food. consume. eat stuff. vomit.
it’s 11 pm
time to digest
hardly speaking
the television is in between stations
or the cable is busted again
solitude of machine frenzy
rimming the ass of the Spectacle
tongue job. deep.
blowjob. fuck. consume.
in this way they will know
what to do
vice of her spotlight
fantasizing about hotrods in hell
climax under miscellaneous skins
collect your passions
for the storefront display
so elegant behind the grimy glass
A native New Yorker, Peter continues to reside in New York City.
His earliest recollection of the writing process is, as a 1st grader, creating a children’s book with illustrations. The only memory he has of this project is a page that contained a crayon drawing of an airplane caught in a storm. The caption read: “The people are on a plane. It is going to crash. They are very scared.” A Dadaist and Surrealist, Peter Marra’s writings explore alienation, addiction, love, secrets, and obsessions. He has had over 200 poems published either in print or online in over 25 journals. Peter’s latest published work is
