Literary Orphans

Two Poems
by Mariah Wilson

You’re Not Here

You are

Sleepy memories

Fuzzy

Like 5 AM fog

Rolling

Off calm waters

Of the soul

Absent you

I lick your flavour

From my lips.

Warmth envelops me

Until I wake

Empty

O Typekey Divider

We Walk Alone

we struggle

————————–to connect

we wait

for a look

————————– to make us quiver

for a smile

————————–to quicken the heart

for a touch

————————– to start a fire

door slam

————————–Soulful cries

fall on deaf ears

tears shed

fires dwindle

————————–the cold reminds

we walk alone

————————–in this journey

we live solitary

————————–in our heads

we are all alone

————————–in the end

O Typekey Divider
