On the theme of the last word

In Sao Paulo

The robot forests of Sao Paulo high-rises
Could not scream like the Iguazu falls
When they realized we were in the same country
At the same time
And never met.

Their muted tones stood in the sun all day
Tormented by the heat of indigestion
While listening to us rave about the beef in Argentina
In the same month of 1999
At different restaurants.
