Quim is certainly by no means archaic, being very much au currant in the finer drawing rooms, literary salons and gentlemen’s periodicals. Any lexicon which designates any word as archaic is ninety-nine times out of one hundred misinformed and woefully ignorant of real world language usage; and of course, any online source is should be dismissed out of hand. As John O’Hara famously said: “I do not consult the makers of dictionaries. The makers of dictionaries consult me.”
